Laziness ~n~ Proverbs. Proverbs 6:9

A Rising Tide: The unemployment rate in America reaches 9.5%, the highest in 26 years. I exited an off ramp in route to Cuyahoga Falls yesterday at 7am where I witnessed a man sitting on the guard rail with a sign that read: I’m out of work and my family needs help. There are 12.5 million in America out of work.
What did the wisest man in the entire world have to say about laziness: How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep? Proverbs 6:9
I remember Dr. Jerry Falwell saying: There are those who would not work in a pie shop eating holes out of doughnuts. He went on to say: They are not afraid of work; they will lay down right beside of it. Ronald Reagan once said: It’s true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance? Mr. C.H. Spurgeon said: Some temptations come to the industrious, but all temptations attack the idle. Laziness is indeed the devil’s workshop.
A lazy person will not kill a lion. The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. (Proverbs 26:13) When the wolves are at the door, the sluggard will blame others for his trouble, nuisances, and poverty. He is afraid to get out of bed.
A lazy person will not do tomorrow, what he will not do today. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands. (Proverbs 6:10) His laziness gets worse each passing day. Dr. B.R. Lakin said: The bed is the most dangerous place one can be, more people die there than any other place!
A lazy person is an untrained person. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. (Proverbs 12:24) Learn which end of a hammer to hold!
A lazy person is a dishonest person. The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. (Proverbs 15:19) When the sluggard is compared with the person who does right things, he is as crooked and a dog’s hind leg. He will lie, cheat, and steal to justify his own sinfulness. Shame on you!
A lazy person is always late. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. (Proverbs 6:11) This person will eventually end up a day late and dollar short. They will procrastinate till all life in this world will be siphoned out of them. They will continue to slide down the broad and wide way which will take them to hell—then it will be eternally too late. In hell they will live like they lived on earth where the unjust will be unjust still. They will die and live like they lived and died.
It seems to me, there is a difference between a man who can not work and the man who will not work. If a man will not work, neither should he eat.

The Family ~n~ Proverbs. Proverbs 1:8,9

Why would a successful NLF star, father of four get involved in an extra martial affair and end up found shot four times by a 20 year old mistress? Steve McNair, dead at 36.

What did the wisest man in the entire world have to say about the Family ~n~Proverbs? My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. Proverbs 1:8, 9

When a family is made up of a foolish woman who knows no shame (Proverbs 9:13) and a foolish man who bestows no name (Proverbs 14:7), will result with a foolish son who sows the same (Proverbs 17:25). This is the typical 2009 dysfunctional family—the attitudes, actions, and abnormal life styles of the parents are reproduced in the lives of their children. The pain, trauma, and scars usually never disappear!

Godly parents (doing things that are scriptural) becomes glad parents as their children become wise in living (Proverbs 10:1). Godly parents train their children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), not the way children want to go. As they grow older, they will not forsake the right paths. When biblical instructions are found in the home, they will lead your children in their travels, they will keep your children when they are idle, and speak to your children when they are in need of direction (Proverbs 6:20-23). When parents chain these truths to the necks of their kids, they will be both a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path. It means survival in a perverse world!

Dad, say things of good doctrine (Proverbs 4:1), Mom, lay the law down. Before our kids can listen, they have to hear what we are saying. Unplug the TV, shut off the computer games, and sit down for a 5pm supper time with the family—and talk! Precious memories of family time together will tie a garland of strength, thankfulness, and purpose to our kids rather than free them to be rebellious and stiffneck.

The family inheritance (Proverbs 13:22). Mom and Dad, what have you laid up for your kids? Do they have a promised home in heaven because you lead them to Christ? Have you left them a Biblical family rather than a dysfunctional one? When you have left them, can they survive on the same stuff that made you godly? I hope so.

It seems to me, when bad things happens to families (and they do), life will go on (and it will), see there are no weak links in the chain that binds them together (and you can).

Anger ~n~ Proverbs. Proverbs 14:17.

ALSIP, Ill. — Authorities Thursday sharply increased the estimate of the number of bodies disinterred at Burr Oak Cemetery in a suburb of Chicago in a scheme to illegally resell grave sites. Two hundred to 300 bodies were dug up and dumped into an isolated, weedy area of the cemetery. “I found a hole where her grave should be,” said Ericka Tolbert, “I don’t think jail is a large enough punishment,” she said. “They should throw them in a hole alive, and when they turn to bone, throw them away.” The Rev. Jesse Jackson says there’s “a special place in hell” for those accused of digging up graves. (Do you think someone is angry!) July 10, 2009
What did the wisest man in the entire world have to say about anger? He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly; and a man of wicked devises is hated. Proverbs 14:17

Strive not with a man without cause, if he has done thee no harm. (Proverbs 3:30)
There is a time to be angry, but there is not a time to be vindictive. God says, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay”. The Bible says, “Be angry and sin not, let not the sun go down on your wrath”. A vicious anger that turns into vengeful wrath is selfish, sinful and satanic. When we give place to the Devil, we rob God of His justice and give Satan the victory. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you. Drop the stone!

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. (Proverbs 15:1) Harsh words always create friction and will certainly add fuel to the fire. There is a time to speak, and when so, let it be seasoned with grace. A wounded spirit, who can bear?

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. (Proverbs 16:32) People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing. (Will Rodgers) Sit and count the cost before you disarm a city. To get anger down to a snails pace, swallow hard, chew on your words, count to a 100, and then say as few words as possible. Control, control, control, control, control, and control…how many times do I have to repeat this word!

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. (Proverbs 21:18) If at all possible, live peaceably with all men. Make no friendship with an angry man and avoid furious people. Steer clear of bad company.

Jesus said: Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. (Philippians 4:13) states, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Remember it was your sin and mine that caused God’s Son to be brutally slain on the cross. If He can forgive people like you and me when we are sorry and repent of our sin for what we did to His Son, can we not forgive 7 times 70 in a day for what others have done to us?

It seems to me, anger should be used for righteousness indignation rather than revengeful incarceration.

A Righteous Nation ~n~ Proverbs. Proverbs 14:28

What did the wisest man in the entire world have to say about a righteousness nation? Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34

For by me (God) kings reign (Proverbs 8:15). Daniel said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his…he removes kings and sets up kings. Romans says: There is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. A righteous nation is not governed by a dictator, or by a royal family, or by a madman, but one who…hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

In the multitude of people is the kings honor (Proverbs 14:28). The President of the United Sates is the most powerful man in the world. He is not powerful because of his intelligence or eloquence, but because of the people’s residence. This country of 50 individual states and more than 300 million is the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We the people are one nation under God not under man.

It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness (Proverbs 16:12). It is wicked to appoint an abortion advocate as David Hamilton to the 7th Circuit Court Appeals. Is this a righteous nation with judges of this kind? Sin is a disgrace to any people!

The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will (Proverbs 21:1). A righteous nation is a nation on its knees praying for kings that we might lead a quite and peaceable life…who will have all men to be saved. If America dies, it will not be because of a leftist President, it will be because of a righteous nation who ceases to pray. Pray that all men will be saved.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice (Proverbs 29:2). The moral compass of a great nation rest with its people. When people cease to be godly, they will fall into immoral depravity that knows no bottom. A nation is not great because of its material wealth, but because of its moral and spiritual depth. It is great because of a mandate standard of righteousness (doing what is right) that has been penned by a Holy, loving, and compassionate God. Sin is still a disgrace to any people!

Happy 233rd Birthday America—stay Holy and enjoy your freedom!

It seems to me, if we are not free, there is no reason to live! Fight for Freedom!
