Fathers ~n~ Proverbs. Proverbs 10:1
The father (James Mammone) is charged for murdering his two children by slashing their throats and shooting to death his mother-in-law several times during a weekend visitation in order to punish his wife smiled in court as the judge set a 15 million bond. Canton, Ohio, June 10, 2009
I know of no title that references Our Father which art in heaven as the one father. The father exemplifies our God in relationships, leadership, training, nurturing, compassion, understanding, love, patience, grace, and forgiveness like no other. When children see Dad, they should see him in the image of God from whom he was created.
What did the wisest man in the entire world say about Fathers? The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. Proverbs 10:1
A wise son is the product of a father who has given quality time in child-rearing. When that child becomes righteous in behavior, it doesn’t get better than this for a Dad. (Proverbs 23:24, III John 4). Fathers must have the mind of Christ lest they provoke their children unto wrath and produce a generation that will curse him and not bless their mother. A wise son follows the perfect will of God as he sees the will of God in his father’s life. Jesus, the Son of God said, I do those things which I see my Father doing. A wise son will make a glad father because of the wisdom of his father.
A father is a teacher. Father’s should seek a place on their knees everyday calling out the names of his children in prayer. Satan is always seeking whom he may devour. Worthless men of Belial lay silently ready to seize and ambush our children and drag them into sin. They will spread a net for our kids and lead them to an early grave. Dad, teach your children the ways of God and the way of the straight and narrow path.
A father is a trainer. One who trains his children not in the way he wants them to go, or the way the children want to go, but the way that children should go. As the child grows older every day, he will not depart from Dad’s training. Train them to follow you as you follow Christ. Train them to live holy lives. Love them unconditionally as your Heavenly Father loves you. Disciplined them when necessary and always be ready to forgive them quickly. Train them for heaven. Lead them to a saving knowledge of Christ early in life. Tell them of a loving and forgiving Savior. Lead them in prayer to confess their sin. Train them to be servants serving their Father for the rest of their lives. And don’t ever give up them.
It seems to me it would be better for a child-offender first to get saved and then a mill stone be hanged around his neck and be cast into the sea than to offend a child.
