I sit a queen. Revelation 17:8
“Hey, wuzup?” This is part of the landscape of our language today when our lives cross the lives of others. The answer we expect is some kind of a gentle response engaging into a conversation of what is happening.
Wuzup this week. If you have any stocks or bonds, you know by now wuzup. Your port-folio fell about 6%, that is wuzup! You may have been part of 160,000 who lost their jobs in September, that is wuzpu! In one day this week every tax payer on Main Street in America was charged for the 700 billion dollar spelled with a b) bailout Congress passed to rescue Wall Street, that is wuzup!
It seems there is an unraveling of the seams across the board from wall to wall. There is so much unsettling circumstances and unrestful concerns in the world. The dollar has lost much of its value in world markets. Each day we hear of other countries building weaponry of nuclear power, and rumors of wars are lead stories in the news. There is a rumbling in the mulberry bushes unlike we have ever heard before. President Bush said this week the country confronted the gravest economic disaster since the Great Depression. He went on to say when he signed the bill, the country still faces serious challenges.
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Who is this queen? She is the epitome and the embodiment of every culture of race and ethnic group in this world. She is everywhere engaging in bed-room courtship with other nations. She is providing a comfortable table to her peers and have made them drunk with her subtleness, and is stained with the blood of Christ and the saints of God. She is every world power who has violated the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. This queen has refused Jesus Christ as the answer for change and the hope life.
The world is captured by how much she has glorified herself, but God is conscious about her sins. Her sins are piling up! She is on the path of total destruction and nothing can keep her from collapsing. When God says that is enough, that is enough.
Today God is being rejected, and his Word is being ridiculed, and the Holy Spirit has no place in our reasoning. God will reward this queen in double proportions as she has rendered. All of the Kings horses and the Kings men have fallen. There is none to help her! Her sorrow and weeping will last until she is no more.
It seems to me, it is not wuzup, but wake up. In one day, in one hour, this world will wake up to the church missing. In one hour there will be a separation of family members, for one will be taken and the other left. In one hour the gospel of Jesus Christ will not be heard. In one hour the horrors of hell will flood the shores of humanity in unequaled and unparallel proportions. In one single day, no man will be able to buy or sell for her market places have gone out of business. Wake up world that is wuzup!
