Esau verses Jacob. Obadiah 17,18
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it. Obadiah 17,18
“Make a note of it.”—God has spoken; when the dust settles at the end of the day, Jacob will experience the thrill of victory and Esau will suffer the agony of defeat. God has used discipline on His own people when needed and even suffered them to be carried off into captivity when they deserved it. But, He has not written off the people who is the apple of His eye or broken His word to the people he loves—Israel!
Israel at times in her history has been on the brink of total disaster and almost annihilated to the point where there was nothing but detached dry bones. For thousand of years, she did not possess her home land. She was scattered to the ends of the four quarters of the earth. Were it not for God’s faithfulness in sustaining an Israel remnant; she would only have a history not a future. Each passing day brings Israel twenty-four hours closer of possessing all the land which God promised her. “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).
In the forth coming days, we will see a united Israel. Their eyes will be open to God’s only Son; they will look upon Him whom they pierced and a nation will be born in a day. Mount Zion (
Genesis 12: 3 is still in the Bible—”And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 17:7,8 is still in the Bible—”And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all theland of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” The following is what God said about Esau and his descendants—“Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau? And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter” Obadiah 8,9. There are no Edomites today, none!
These boys have been in a struggle from the womb to the tomb and even as we speak, the conflict rages on. The most coveted piece of real estate in the world has been up for grabs for years. They say this Zionist regime has no right to exist. Since May 14, 1948, the Six Star of David has flown mightily over land of the Bible.
