The Revival of a Nation–Jews Esther
“Do not touch”—Michelle Obama broke protocol this week in London during the G20 Summit, by touching the Queen when she and the President visited Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at the Buckingham Palace. Mrs. Obama embraced the Queen and then she shook the hand of the Queen. This was not the way to approach the Queen of England. Those who do touch the Queen will be long remembered for doing so.
There was another unforgettable touch recorded and the person never lived to tell about it. His name is wicked Haman, the Jews enemy. He moved his hand against the Jews and it was as if he poked his finger in the eye of God. The Lord said: “After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye”. Zech 2:8
The one who neither slumbers nor sleeps has stood by the nation of the Jews since her conception like a Mother standing over the crib of her baby. Had God not been watching over His people, they would have been bruised, beaten and butchered to total annihilation from the face of the earth. If Haman had his way, he would have destroyed all the Jews in a single day. He was possessed with satanic measures to kill and destroy all the Jews. While the name of God is not mentioned in the Book of Esther or His word recorded, His providence is as evident as the noon day sun.
God had plans for Israel that never crossed the mind of Haman. Haman had to hand the keys of the Kingdom over to a certain Jew named Mordecai and revival broke out. Haman was hanged, thousands of the Jews’ enemies were slain, non-Jews became Jews, gladness and joy filled the land and it was a good day for God’s people.
Once again Israel, by the grace of God dodged the bullet from the Devil. Fear was replaced with peace. Danger died in one day and fires of blood, war and death was smothered by joy and festivities. The Jews were saved and God’s program remained on schedule. Revival brought life and life brought redemption.
The revival of a nation was the light unto to the world. If the Jews haters had their way in that day, there would have been darkness all over this globe. There is only one thing that can dispel darkness and that is light. Jesus was not only a Jew, but he was the light of the world. That Light broke the chains of darkness of sin, death, and hell. And from him came life to all who were dead in trespasses and sin.
The survival of the Jews gave us hope. The hope of eternal salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. The enslavement and captivity of sin can now be broken. When the Son makes you free, then you are free indeed. Those who have been set free will never fear him who has power to kill the body. New hope births the confidence that if this earthy tabernacle is destroyed we have a building of God…eternal in the heavens. Because of the Jewish nation, there is a Bible which tells of Jesus’ sufferings, his death, his resurrection and his power to change lives. I hope you have this hope.
It seems to me He has come that you might touch and embrace him. Do it now!
